Only Windows XP Pro can be host Store Portal software. If you use this operating system you can find difficulty in installation in the permission setting.

Windows XP idle configuration for permission on file and folder.

You can find solve option of File and Folder in your XP Control Panel.

You will be find check-box "Use Simple Security setting". Deselect it and restart XP.

After the restart you find standard permission setting on file and folder as Windows 2000 and you can continue Store Portal installation.

In which place of control panel I will deselecting this option ? Are you talking about Win Xp Pro SP1
