Is it possible to relocate the database one level outside the www.storeportal folder? I don't like the idea of the database being inside the website files. I know the security permission is suppose to prevent that, but if it's physically located outside the www.storeportal directory then there would be absolutely no way a user could download the database.

You can protect the database directory, if your problem is it. Open IIS Admin and edit properties of the mdbs directory. In Security Tab you can denied access to all and permit access only to 127.0.0.1 host address. 127.0.0.1 is loopback address for your web server. In this way nobody can be download database.

This step is write in installation process of Store Portal on this website.

If you want relocate directory you can do it. In any case is important denied access on /mdbs directory. In this directory there is setting.txt file. It contain the location of the database .
